Bias knit wool sweater, from Comme des Garçons Homme Plus, Autumn/Winter 1997. This wool is the softest and most comfortable that I have ever touched. The fit is classic and the style is playful. I like it a lot, but I don't wear it enough and I want it to be appreciated as it should. It is in perfect condition.
The show, titled "THE MAGIC OF BIAS", presented a colorful collection of various bias patterns. With the exception of a few items made of velveteen, all items were biased. Rei Kawakubo cut every suit, and even linings, on the bias, making diagonal angles of pin stripes, patterned tweeds, clashing plaids and striped knits. The effect on the most sober pin stripes was of something entirely conservative but entirely unconventional at the same time.
