Double breasted nylon coat from Comme des Garçons Homme Plus, Autumn/Winter 1998-1999. The nylon fabric was made to be extremely soft and comfortable while retaining a somewhat rough texture due to the weaving technique. It is quite light, easy to wear, and oversized as there is no lining, making it perfect for layering. It has the iconic exposed seams found throughout the collection, which gives a military look to the coat. It is in perfect condition.
The collection, titled "Inside Outside", was developed around the idea of making clothes with freedom of thought by reevaluating from scratch the general approach to the front and back of clothes. The designs were made starting from the back of the clothes, which is normally hidden. The complete sewing of the exposed seams with advanced sewing techniques and patterns proved that the desire to pursue technological pursuits has not been shaken since its debut. The focus on carded wool fabrics such as tweed and melton together with the effect of complex weaving involving for example the casual use of a single red thread resulted in a variety of looks. The appearance of young professional models during this season's presentation was unusual for Homme Plus.
