Triple-breasted rayon shirt from Comme des Garçons Homme Plus, Spring/Summer 1991. The most striking feature is the set of three buttons, which allows the shirt to be worn in many different, stylish ways. Less obvious is the subtle texture of the fabric. As it is made of rayon and due to the slightly oversized fit, it is extremely comfortable to wear - hence why it has been used like this. Notice that there is a yellow stain under the left armpit. Although it seems spread out, it goes unnoticed once worn because it is under the arm and excess fabric hides it.
This collection is somewhat special as it is the first time that souvenir shirts appeared in a Comme des Garçons menswear collection. Harry Dean Stanton notably opened the show as one of the models, which all appeared to be older men. The collection focused on raw, skin colors mixed with bright colors such as pink, yellow, and scarlet red.
