Sony uniform vest from Miyake Design Studio, 1981. In 1981, Sony's chairman Akio Morita proposed the idea: "Unlike the olden days, today is the age of fashion. We want to create uniforms that our employees can wear with pride." As such, Sony asked designer Issey Miyake to design a uniform for the company, which led to this product. On a trip to Japan in the early 1980s, Steve Jobs saw the uniform and wanted something similar for Apple. He then called Issey Miyake and asked him to design a vest for Apple.
The vest is light, comfortable, and easy to wear. It has been used, but it is still in good condition. Great piece of history.
