Handwritten oversized shirt from Comme des Garçons Homme Plus, Autumn/Winter 1987-1988. The iconic oversized white shirt with a handwritten "Comme des Garçons Autumn Winter 1987" printed over the front pocket. It is perfectly classic and timeless. It is in great condition for an old white shirt: there is almost no yellow discolouration around the neck, but a small hole can be found between the buttons and the pocket.

Not much information is available on the collection. Visually, it marks the beginning of Rei Kawakubo's conceptual, innovative, and unequivocally extravagant approach to her main menswear line. There is indeed more complexity involved in the designs of this season than in prior collections.

Interestingly enough, this is one of the few instances where the name of the brand is not printed as its logo. Most shirts worn on the runway - all black or white - featured the print either on the collar or on the front of the body.
