Denim Shirt with colorful panel from Comme des Garçons Homme Plus, Spring/Summer 1992. The indigo denim is soft and comfortable. It has the iconic 'ethnic' colorful panel used throughout the collection. The fit is similar to a standard oversized M. It is not in the best condition as there is a stain near the buttons. However, it makes it perfect for an everyday shirt.
The Spring/Summer 1992 collection was intended to celebrate ethnic and cultural traditions in proximity to nature. To reify this heritage, they tried to match the style with traditional clothing from Tibet and Guatemala. The material was made to be crisp and rough through a process of washing, color fading, and wrinkling. Old pieces of clothing from these regions were used as decorative details and borders. Transfer printing was also employed. Rodney Grant from 'Dances with Wolves' was notably hired to walk on the runway.
